EF was developed to finally be able to provide a modern solution to emergency care.
The emergency products (compact food) that have been used until now were designed for extreme events, such as those we have unfortunately known in the so-called third world countries. This means that these products are designed for, for example, aid organisations to be able to supply large quantities of "first aid food" in compact forms to camps, to offer quick and provisional aid as necessary. However, this also means that these products are reduced to the bare essentials for survival situations and serve only as a source of energy. This compact food is in no way comparable to what we would consider a "normal" meal.
Nowadays, when you consider the increasing freak weather incidences and crises in the developed world, and the associated disaster situations, it is more than advisable to set up an emergency supply for you and your family. However, it should be modern and fitting, meaning that it is not necessary for it to cater for months of famine, but it should be able to provide for a reasonable period from one to several days without electricity or running water.
At the same time, however, you should not have to renounce good, flavourful and familiar food, because a good meal is not only a source of energy, but it also plays an important role in maintaining a stable frame of mind; a role that should not be underestimated. It is not without reason that the "Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance" advises people to stock food that their family are used to eating.
Our EF emergency supply products are about freshly cooked, very flavourful, complete meals in robust tins that can be consumed in emergency situations without any extra preparation. Thanks to our specially developed process, the EF meals have a shelf life of at least 10 years, and without the addition of any preservatives, nitrogen or chemical substances. We have also avoided using any flavour enhancers, synthetic vitamins or minerals.
There are many popular meals available, for example, "Chicken fricassee with einkorn wheat", "Sweet and sour chicken with einkorn wheat", "Scrambled eggs with vegetables and Gouda cheese", "Pancakes with ham, cheese and scrambled eggs", as well as many other options. Instead of rice or pasta, the ancient "Einkorn wheat" grain has often been used a substitute in the EF meals. One reason is that it has a very hearty taste, but most importantly it is also seen as a type of "super food"; containing high levels of minerals such as magnesium, zinc, iron and important amino acids that provide the ideal support to the body in stressful situations. Einkorn wheat also provides a long-lasting feeling of being full, is easy to digest and has a lower gluten content than all other modern grain types.
Despite EF -Products not needing any drinking water for their preparation - contrary to the majority of the other emergency supply foods - it is extremely important to have a sufficient amount of drinking water in your emergency supply. For this, EF also offers corresponding products, namely high-quality drinking water with a minimum shelf life of 10 years, packed into practical 0.5L reusable, refillable glass bottles with screw caps. Plastic bottles have deliberately been avoided as they contain substances that could be absorbed into the drinking water over time.
With the 1DASP (1 Day Survival Pack) you now have the opportunity to easily and practically prepare you and your family for any possible emergency situation. With a 1DASP, you can fully provide food and drinking water for one person in your family for a day.
The 1DASPs contain 1 litre of drinking water, three complete meals and are also equipped with disposable cutlery and when necessary, also a "tindle", a tin handle for heating meals up in a bain-marie. This means that you can easily prepare and calculate how many 1DASPs you require, according to the number of people in your household and the realistic duration of an emergency situation. The 1DASPs are available in several versions so that you can also have variety in your supply. The 1DASPs have the same shelf life as other EF products of at least 10 years.
